Just finished
"Olive Kitteridge" is a very good book, those that remain stuck on him for days after you have finished reading. It 's a scathing book, in hard times, despite (or perhaps because of it) talking about the normal life of normal people almost always, strive to live normal lives, quiet desperation. Olive Kitterdige then it's not a nice woman, indeed. And 'the exact opposite of a nice woman. And for this you find yourself thinking: I do not happen, because I am different. And 'his dislike, his toughness, his lack of compassion (literally) that you make it that far and let you say that, no, it is impossible that your child be as the son of Olive, no, the fate of his marriage will not be the same as yours. But then you find yourself thinking that maybe you do not know anything about her, or do not know everything about him, and that what you do not know of his life, the author does not say what, if fleetingly, that is exactly what makes Olive Olive that emerges from the pages, with its cargo of hopes dashed, a job well done but not always recognized, of unrequited love, of disbelief and inability to change his mind. Beautiful book that makes you think, sometimes smile, but that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth like wine after some vegetables. To read.
